IND V/S SA: Why It Was Good That Series Ended Up in A Draw

The India-South Africa series ended in a tie after both teams won 2-2 matches and the final one was canceled due to rain. Many fans were disappointed because they paid for the ticket, were emotionally invested, or used a betting platform and were disappointed by the outcome. Every Indian was disappointed as we couldn't beat the SA and win the cup fair and square. Instead, we had to settle for a share of the trophy. But as they say, "what seems to us to be bitter trials are often blessings in disguise." So in today's blog, I will be explaining just "Why It Was Good That Series Ended Up in A Draw."

 1. Shame for SA to lose from a B-Team -

If the series had ended up with India winning, then it would've been a huge shame for the SA team as they were playing their A-Squad for the series against our B-Squad and still lost. There's nothing wrong with our B-Squad, but they lack experience. They've all performed well in their respective formats recently and earned the right to face the South African squad, but losing to the young guns would be a second-hand embarrassment for the SA squad. Because the majority of them were inexperienced in the format and still won, it could have done long-term damage to SA's reputation.

2. Shame on India to lose on their home turf -

As per ESPN's Cricinfo record, India has been maintaining a steady record of not losing to outsiders on home turf since 2012-13. Our last defeat came from the English guys in the 2012-13 series of tests. They defeated us in the test series with a 2-1 record. Imagine maintaining a record this big that would be tarnished had it not been for the rain. It could have gone in our favor too, but it's a 50-50 chance in the end. So, while it may sound discouraging, we may have avoided a massive bouncer this time.

3. Loss of Morale and confidence for Rishabh Pant -

Rishabh Pant has been a target of criticism since the Delhi Capitals incident. Some people think it was a brave action when he summoned his team to the bench and called the game off due to an umpire's error, but others think it was a disgusting move. Regardless, this event has left Punt in a difficult position, and losing a series would add even more gasoline to the fire. From his perspective, this rain came as a blessing, as he had avoided the inevitable here.

4. World Cup Opportunities would be hindered -

People may refer to sports like as football, cricket, or basketball as team sports, although all of these games are focused on individuality. Every man is vying for a position. They help their team by doing so, but their main goal here is to keep themselves going so that the boards don't forget about them and kick them out of the world cup. Because we are dealing with overcrowding and a lack of opportunity in India, these situations are ten times more difficult, and no spot is assured. Everyone is striving to outdo one other, and if we had lost this tournament, some people's futures may have been unpredictable.

Okay, this concludes my analysis of the series; please let me know what you think of it.
