Nowadays, practically everyone who has access to the internet relies on it for survival. It offers knowledge, facilitates communication, and allows us all the chance to use it to make a living. Everyone now has the option to make money online through a variety of avenues, whether it be social networking, marketing, data entry, or any other industry. The nicest aspect of it is that it doesn't make distinctions between people and offers everyone an equal chance, regardless of race or special needs. You can probably make something if you can hack it. But unfortunately where there is lightness darkness will also exist. There are some people on the internet who are just waiting to take these opportunities and ruin them for everyone. But unfortunately, where there is light, darkness will also exist. There are some people on the internet who are just waiting to take these opportunities and ruin them for everyone. So in today's blog, we'll be talking about one such incident from 2013 where a Twitch Streamer Conned Everyone by Faking a Disability but also got caught faking it on camera.
So before I tell you about this story, let me tell you about one of mine
where my whole colony got scammed by a beggar. So, back in the days in my home
town, every begger had some sort of designated area and they only used to go
there and cover those paths. One fine day, there came this new person who was
begging and who only had one good leg to use. So you know how sympathy works.
We all took pity on him and started giving him more money. Some even gave him
donations as well, so he could at least get a wheelchair so that his life could
get a little easier. So one evening, I was talking to my friend from another
neighborhood, and we were talking things over, and this topic came up, and I
mentioned to him that this one crippled uncle comes into our neighborhood and
begs for money, and I was talking about how bad it is already for him and, on
top of that, he has to beg for every single penny. As I was blabbing about this
on and on, my friend suddenly interrupted and said, "Are you talking about
a guy with a stick who is also old and has only one good leg?" And
everything matched the description. So I said yes to that guy, and then he
went, "This guy is a fraud!" He can walk I saw it with my own two
eyes a few days ago. The same guy used to come into our neighborhood as well,
but then rumors started to circulate that he could walk and that he was faking
it. So after some days of this rumor, he stopped coming into our neighborhood.
So as he was telling me this, I figured out that the reason he started coming
into our area was that we weren’t aware of this situation and he took advantage
of us. That's pretty bad now that I look at it. That's how woeful a person has
to be in order to do such heinous things just for the sake of money.
So when I stumbled upon that story, the first thing that came to my mind
was the beggar incident. Now that I've explained that, let’s carry on with our
topic. So, back in 2012, there was this Twitch streamer named Zillionop. He
used to play World of Warcraft, and he was able to generate a decent-sized
audience for his daily stream at the time on the internet. And his audience always
used to ask him why he makes most of his videos sitting down, like why doesn’t
he get up ever during the stream time or ever in general? His fans kept asking
that same question again and again, and after a while, he decided to reveal the
secret. One day, he revealed that the reason behind his sitting down was that
he couldn’t get up. He can’t walk because he had this car accident last year
where he got paralyzed from the waist down. Due to that, he doesn’t get up. His
audience started to expand after this revelation. They all wanted to support
someone who chose to fight instead of getting down in the worst time of life
and decided to entertain everyone around him. Due to this, Zillionop received
many donations from fans throughout his stream, but the fact will still remain
the same; no matter how great a lie is, the truth will always prevail. That
just happened, as on April 5th, 2013, he did a stream where he forgot to turn
off the camera, and the result was the revelation that he was holding back as
he could actually walk. All of that was a great lie, as when the curtain came
down, he was visible standing up, and that concluded his lie.
