On June 17th, 2022, England made history when it scored 498 runs in a one-day international match against the Netherlands. This is the greatest to have ever been achieved by a team in the ODI format. The limits of what we are witnessing in day-to-day cricket are keeping everyone on edge. Players have adapted to fast scoring and maintaining match order since the introduction of the short over format, and when things like this happen, it makes us wonder how far we have come in terms of progress. After a successful 498, it doesn’t seem far when one day a team will cross the 500 barriers and will reach the 600 mark in a 300-ball match consisting of a 50-over match. But for today, we’ll be counting down Ten Times When A Team Scored The Most Runs in ODI Cricket.

This match was played between the Windies and England in 2019 at St. George’s Ground. The match was spectacular to watch and England survived the score as the Windies came as close to finishing the score as they scored a total of 389 but lost due to all the players going out before the over ended.

Zimbabwe fall into the trap of big scores and couldn’t even get past 250 as they could only score a total of 247 in 50 overs.

The greatest match of all time. The run chase by SA gave literal goosebumps to each and every cricket fan out there. As the match was played between SA and Aus in 2006 at the home turf of SA in Johannesburg. Matches like these come only once in a generation, and whoever watched this greatest run chase in my eyes is lucky. SA didn’t just win the greatest chase but won a special place in our hearts as well.

Another greatest score achieved by SA which surpasses his previous 434 chase and being the Runner this SA was the one setting the target that is formidable and only been achieved once, in 2015. Sadly our team couldn’t do the wonder as we gave all our wickets even before reaching the score of 250 and lost the match.

Oh God! I miss the SA. They were in their prime at that time. I hit in every single match. This match took place in 2015 in Johannesburg. SA managed to hit 439 runs in their first innings. Sadly, the Windies couldn’t get past this wall and only managed to score 291 with 3 wickets in hand.

04. SLA vs Netherlands (443/9) –

The Netherlands have been one of the unluckiest teams as they have conceded a score of over 400 twice and not once did they manage to win. In 2016’s match, SLA successfully scored a total of 443 but the Netherlands, in the end, only managed to score 248 but with no wickets left.

In 2016, at Nottingham, England smashed a total of 444 with 7 wickets in hand. Pakistan, on the other hand, tried their best but couldn’t come close as they only managed to score 275 in 42.4 overs and lost every wicket. Hence, they lost the game by a long shot.

In the year 2018, England again took the leap of faith and managed to do the unthinkable. Australia has had the best bowlers ever since the start of the game as nobody got past this bowling defense, but not this time. Because English players were not having it this time, they smashed a total of 481 at Nottingham's great stadium and performed the miracle. might think that they would at least be able to withstand the English bowlers and might sustain, but the reverse happened as they lost all their wickets at just the score of 239.

In return, Ned made their way but couldn’t even pass the score of 300 as they had to make peace with 266 as they lost all the wickets with two balls left to finish.
